JOB SUMMARY
Level II Snowcat Operators have previous grooming experience, and carry out the daily grooming plan as assigned by the Grooming Supervisor. They may be responsible for assisting a Level I operator learn the mountain and basic grooming functions. Beyond normal trail grooming, Level II operators will also carry out terrain park maintenance, lift ramp/maze maintenance, special race tasks, and other more advanced grooming tasks.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Learn and become intimately familiar with the mountain and trail system

2. Carry out essential snow grooming and snowcat operation functions and tasks, including blade work, implement use to include roller, compactor-bar and tiller, execute lift maze and ramp maintenance

3. Perform more advanced grooming tasks, including terrain park and race trail maintenance

4. Assist and provide direction to Level I operator(s) on shift

5. Understand and carefully observe the safety considerations of heavy equipment operations in an alpine environment, and ensure that Level I operator(s) on the shift do the same

6. Must be able to communicate clearly and punctually with supervisory/management staff about grooming and scheduling

7. Develop and imbue the focus on skiing surface quality over quantity, while maintaining operational efficiency

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ideally, groomers will ski or ride their groomed trails from time-to-time to get a first-hand understanding of their product. Any time a groomer is skiing a groomed trail, he/she should be assessing the quality of work, looking for ways to constantly improve the grooming quality.

2. Performs other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Applicants must be 18+ with a current and valid Colorado Driver’s License, and be capable of lifting up to 80lbs.

2. MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION

3. 2-5 years grooming/snowcat operation experience and a working knowledge of basic snowcat mechanical systems required

4. Terrain park grooming and other heavy equipment operations and vehicle maintenance experience preferred, but not required

5. Grooming positions involve outdoor work in a cold, wet, snowy, and possibly icy alpine environment around high-horsepower heavy equipment. Candidates must be comfortable with these conditions.
