PB600 Winch

Spent my first night in a demo 600 winch and was having a hard time getting the uphill passes to look smooth (i.e. Getting the track marks to disappear). I have one more night to get it dialed in and would appreciate any suggestions on tiller settings. It has the alpine tiller with snowtronics. Increasing depth of cut seemed to make things worse. Conditions are man made base with recent new snow mixed in and cold surface temps.

Less is usually more with the PB's. The tillers are usually happiest with everything set at half...traditionally. Not sure on that particular tiller...I know a guy who would know...but not sure if it's a mute point now. Could be the thing is just too damn heavy if you're running around with a full drum free grooming with it.

Hey Curt....if you still have that thing tonight I can give you the number of a buddy of mine who knows that machine inside and out who's working tonight as well. He was basically telling me the snow chamber on them sucks now but he could give you some pointers.

Thanks, CBombar, I do think that all that weight and horsepower combined makes it dig in a little more. I found I had to max out the snow chamber which means running it at 10 % on the gauge (you would think 90% would be more) and ended up going slower than usual to get the pass I wanted. Well it's only here for a few more days and I am off for a couple, so no worries.

Ahh...figgerd you were looking for info last night. My friend runs one at WB. He said they changed the flap set up on new chamber and it doesn't seem to carry snow when it's hard out like they used to. He actually said he was getting a little better pass by going faster instead of slower.....and left me a 5 minute voicemail with where to set every setting before I called him back giving him a hard time over the maxed out voicemail crash course..lol.
