MAXI snow mover

Postby Tom400CFI on 16 Jun 2010, 11:39

Does anyone have any pictures of a Maxi snow mover? Or know where I could see one? I THINK this implement is something like an earth mover, but not sure. Any info is appreciated...

Wow, that was fast reply. Thanks. That thing looks huge. It looks more like a plainer than a snow mover though. Did they ever make a "earth mover" for snow?

Its really not that "huge", but I bets its a boat anchor to drag uphill in bad conditions. Sorry I don't have a pic with cat attached so you could see it. I have never operated one, but am told it works well for its purpose such as moving snow from parking lot to slope on thin snow years, etc. It would be a slow process for sure. This is the only thing related to an "earthmover" I have seen except the obvious loaders/dozers that I have seen push snow from parking lots to the slope where the cats take over. As you can see, this operates much like a scraper with the bowl/ejector if you have ever operated one of those. Kind of a cool old piece of equipment though. I had never seen one on the east coast, but have encountered a few randomly here in the west parked among the boneyards.
