Snowcat mechanic
Posted: 21 Jan 2014, 22:41Hi, I'm a long time skier from VA, and I'm looking for a vocational job in the ski industry. As I have no experience in this field, I'm not sure where to start looking, or if I should complete some sort of certification before I do. I have a high school diploma and some college, math and science intensive (I just took multivariable calculus last semester).
Ideally I'd like this job to lead to a career, and I was thinking I might look at employment in a manufacturer as opposed to a resort. I was wondering if working as a snowcat mechanic has opportunities for promotion, and if you make enough to live on starting out. Any and all information would be helpful, thanks.
